Sit. Stay… Alert

We have a report of a homeless woman who is part of an encampment at the corner of Bryant and Main. She has a Pitbull that has deep tan coloring and full ears. The woman is coherent and seems very concerned for her dog, and others, but she wasn’t being attentive and her dog lunged at a small dog and nipped it.

In my humble opinion, domestic dogs are our responsibility. We need to stay alert and try to avoid any situation where one may be injured. When a dog attacks another, the aggressor can be deemed dangerous and eventually be euthanized which is devastating to all. It is the caretakers responsibility to make sure this doesn’t happen, but the dog is the one who takes the fall.

Please be alert and careful. Avoid encampments when possible. We want your pup to stay safe, and we need to keep at-risk dogs out of trouble even when their caretakers are incapable.

Woofs ‘n wags,
