Happy Spring to All Our Rincon Hill Dog Park Friends!

Hello!

As the flowers start to bloom and the days grow longer, we’re all looking forward to spending more time outside with our furry friends. With the time change, we’re blessed with brighter evenings – perfect for a relaxing playtime at our beloved Rincon Hill Dog Park.

A Big Thank You to Woodland’s Market

Firstly, we want to extend a huge thank you to Woodland’s Market. For several years, they’ve generously provided the doggie waste bags that help keep our park clean. Unfortunately, due to recent supplier issues, these specific bags have become harder to source.

But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining! This brings us an opportunity to adopt a more eco-friendly approach. We’re now inviting each of you to become an integral part of our park’s sustainability efforts.

Join Our Eco-Friendly Initiative: Bring Your Produce Bags!

We encourage everyone to start saving those used produce bags – Woodland’s bags are perfect for this. Next time you visit, simply stuff them into our poop bag dispensers. These bags are biodegradable, turning a challenge into a win-win for our environment and our community. It’s a small step that can make a significant difference, so let’s all contribute to keeping our park green and clean.

Safety First: Please Lock the Gate

On another important note, we’ve observed that the gates are not being locked consistently upon entering and exiting the park. This is crucial for the safety of our pets and community. Last week, we incurred a $1,100 expense paid to the Department of Public Works for repairs to the broken gate in the small dog area. More concerning, during this repair, we found a used drug needle near the area, underscoring the importance of keeping our gates secured.

If there’s a particular reason you find it challenging to lock the gate, please don’t hesitate to reach out to contact@rinconhilldogpark.org. We’re here to help and find solutions together. Remember, it’s up to all of us to ensure our shared space remains safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation. Let’s make this Spring season one filled with joy, community spirit, and, most importantly, lots of tail-wagging fun!

Woofs ‘n wags,

The Volunteer Team
